A Depressed Sun





	His favorite possession lost,

	Mark Fizzer was losing his heart, thinking back

	of his lost night-time privileges.



	Mark looked outside his bedroom window

	wishing his mother was more understanding,

	not granting him the joy,

	to go out into that dark night.



	Staring outside, he wanted the open air

	of the night-time, with its spotlighting stars

	throughout the blackness, blistering the sky.

	In a new-time way he looked at the blue haze of the heavens.



	Mark's thoughts burned into his mind,

	transporting his pain, thundering,

	forming stars which wound around him.



	He longed for the feelings of the clever moon,

	but his guilty feelings, though,

	continued to burst out within his mind.

	Mark longed for his memory to disappear,

	after the disobedience of mother's wishes.  



	Sunrise, when Mark awoke from his pin-cushion bed,

	he still remembered the nights before.

	When Mark was caught sneaking out one night,

	his window his only salvation,

	from his mother's punishment,

	she would have been the sun that burned him.



	Mark was a night-owl,

	for he could only have left the house to feel at home.

	The cold night air his only escape,

	an opportunity to clear his head of the punishment of boredom.



	Mark, awake, returned to the window, 

	now feeling overcome by the foreign daylight;

	he began to gaze toward the sun's bright rays.

	Depression penetrated his mind and he cried out in pain,

	his boredom never-ending with a hurting truth.
