777 Red Palm Lane, Noon





	On 777 Red Palm Lane

	near the corner of Witch Way Way,

	a little crooked house stands

	between a thrift shop and The Nifty Nickel Laundry Mat.



	Within there,

	dimly lit by rosy candles

	in two ancient wrinkled chairs around a cookie-round table.



	In a flowing gown of sparkling red,

	Ruby deals out Tarot cards from behind a falling storm of beads.



	Madame Ruby foretells to listener's ear,

	"This card with shining sun stands for happiness; 

	this heart stands for love."

	Seeing what believer wanted and Madame Ruby to,

	believer leaves as Ruby feeds, hungry purse with a twenty.



	Then as drawn toward a sunshine sphere in the shady corner,

	Ruby wrapped her creamy hands around its light.

	This glazing globe showed to her a distant concrete sky,

	and a dual vision of blinding brightness

	like a pair of omniscient eyes staring back.



	Reflecting to her eyes like off a newly polished pan,

	was a glowing greatness of future days,

	meaning newer sunsets and moonshine nights.



	Happily Ruby snuffed out candle's lives,

	with her purse in hand she turned toward her door, leaving

	and left that mystic vision behind as if to preserve it,

	alone, undisturbed in the dark.
